I'm not a fan of animal prints and stuff in the first place, so I really don't like the shoes. Everyting looks really monocromatic, but it looks really cool, esp against the blue background.

this is good. the same sheen (or lack thereof) and same (as you say inky) "fountain pen and cartridge paper" tones on all the fabrics makes this work real nice. And the outfit looks comfortable, which makes it chic. And it means the contrast of the crazy shoes (probably not so comfy) just adds to brilliance of this one.
